First term at Bountiful Elementary is almost in the books! Can you believe we're already at 36 days of school?

This is a short week for our Bobcats: a full day Monday, an early-out Tuesday, and then Fall Break. Before everyone heads into a few days away, there are a handful of dates and reminders worth keeping on your radar.

  • Monday, October 12 - Full school day

    • 5th Grade JA City field trip - students attending must be on time. The bus leaves at 9:00 a.m. and will not be able to wait for late arrivals.

  • Tuesday, October 13 - End of 1st Term

  • Wednesday, October 14 - Teacher Professional Day

    • NO SCHOOL for students

  • Thursday-Friday, October 15-16 - Fall Break

    • NO SCHOOL for students

  • Monday, October 19 - Students return to school for the start of 2nd term

Let's finish the first term strong, enjoy the break, and come back ready for an incredible start to second term.

Early Out & No School

School dismisses early at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13th. Please plan ahead for transportation, childcare, and after-school arrangements.

There is NO SCHOOL for students:

  • Wednesday, October 14

  • Thursday, October 15

  • Friday, October 16

Students and staff will return to the school on Monday, October 19 for the start of 2nd term.

Last Call for PTA Reflections

Tuesday, October 13 is the deadline for this year's PTA Reflections competition. The 2026-2027 theme is "What My Culture Means to Me" and students can share their interpretation through:

  • Music composition

  • Photography

  • Visual arts

Entries are submitted online and must include a student-created artist statement explaining the connection between the work and the theme.

Kindness Matters | Take It With You

School pauses for a few days this week, giving our Bobcats the chance to spread kindness outside of the classroom. October's Kindness Matters focus reminds us that kindness often lives in everyday choices:

  • noticing others

  • including someone

  • helping without being asked

  • showing patience

  • offering encouragement

  • simply saying thank you

As Bobcats head into Fall Break, we're challenging our community to look for one small opportunity to make someone else's day a little better through kindness.

Coming Back | Digital Citizenship Week

When students return to school Monday, October 19, we'll begin second term with Digital Citizenship Week. Technology gives students incredible opportunities to learn, create, connect, and explore. However, using technology effectively requires more than knowing where to click.

In a world filled with search results, advertising, algorithms, social media, and AI-generated content, students also need the ability to pause, question, evaluate, and think for themselves. Bobcats will be building critical-thinking skills necessary for navigating an increasingly digital world.

Looking Ahead to Halloween

Halloween parties will take place on Friday, October 30. Students are welcome to wear costumes to school for classroom activities.

As families plan costumes, please keep the following in mind:

  • Come Ready: Makeup and hair color should be completed before arriving at school.

  • Be Respectful: Avoid stereotypes, racially insensitive, or culturally inappropriate costumes.

  • Be Responsible: Recognize that students in a wide age range will see the costumes. Costumes should not be gory or threatening.

  • Be Safe: No hand-held accessories, like wands or weapons. Worn items like a crown are okay.

  • Be Kind: Costumes should be fun and exciting, not political or offensive.

Make It Matter

First term has brought a lot of learning, growing, trying, adjusting, celebrating, and showing up.

Now comes a chance to pause.

We hope our Bountiful Elementary families enjoy Fall Break, find time to recharge, and return ready for everything second term will bring.

Wherever the next few days take you: Be thoughtful. Be kind. Make it matter.
