Bobcat Biz Newsletter | October 18-25, 2026
Welcome back, Bobcats! Students return from Fall Break on Monday, October 19, ready to begin the second term.
We're kicking things off with Digital Citizenship Week, helping students build critical thinking skills they need in a world increasingly shaped by technology and artificial intelligence (AI).
Here's the full dress-up schedule so families can plan ahead! Participation is encouraged, and there's no need to purchase anything special. We want students to be creative and use what they already have.
Monday | HEAD: Pause & Think
Wear something on your head that makes others pause and think!
Tuesday | GUTS: Trust Your Gut
Wear your clothes inside out!
Wednesday | ARMS: Find Your Balance
Stack your arms with bracelets, watches, scrunchies, or wristbands!
Thursday | FEET: Make Good Tracks
Wear shoes that stand out!
Friday | HEART + LEGS: Stand Up For Yourself & Others
Pair a black or dark shirt with your boldest pants, leggings, or socks!
As we continue October's Make It Matter focus, Kindness Matters, it's also a great reminder that the choices we make online are just as important as the choices we make in person.
Digital Citizenship Week | Pause & Think From Head to Toe
Technology can generate information, make predictions, and influence what we see. Our Bobcats need the skills to question information, manage their attention, make thoughtful decisions, and treat others with kindness.
Throughout the week, students will participate in specialized lessons designed to help them:
Learn to question online search results and think critically about what they see.
Strengthen media literacy skills to evaluate online information.
Explore algorithms, personalized content, and how technology influences their attention.
Digital Citizenship doesn't happen just at school! Explore resources from Common Sense Education to support critical thinking at home.

P.A.W.S. in Action | Kindness Starts With a Story

Our Bountiful Elementary Hope Squad members are helping bring Kindness Matters to life, one story at a time!
Hope Squad students have been visiting classrooms to share books about kindness, encouraging fellow Bobcats to think about compassion, inclusion, and friendship.
Through these classroom visits, our Hope squad is demonstrating what it means to Practice Kindness and showing that student leadership doesn't always require a big gesture. Sometimes, making a difference starts with sharing a story.
Making Learning Matter Through the Arts
Creativity and learning go hand in hand! As second term begins, we're excited to kick off the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program (BTS Arts) at Bountiful Elementary.
Through BTS Arts, Mrs. Montano will help students connect classroom learning with artistic expression. By integrating the arts with reading, math, science, and history, students can explore new ideas, collaborate, and bring their learning to life.
We'll share more about the program and what it brings to our Bobcats soon!

Costumes must be school-appropriate and respectful.
No masks, no weapons, and no gore.
It's still a school day and students need to be able to safely move around.
Handheld accessories should stay home (worn accessories like hats/crowns are okay).
