Every great performance begins somewhere—with a first audition, a new character, and the courage to step into the spotlight.
Earlier this fall, Bountiful Elementary students had the opportunity to explore the world of musical theater through our PTA's six-week Musical Theater Workshop. Now, it's time for the next chapter!
The Bountiful Elementary PTA is bringing Disney's Mary Poppins Jr. to the stage this spring, and audition sign-ups are officially open for students in grades 3–6.
Whether your student dreams of a leading role, loves to sing and dance, or is simply curious about trying something new, here's everything families need to know about taking that first step.
Mandatory Parent Meeting — November 2
Before auditions begin, families interested in participating must attend an important informational meeting.
Date: Monday, November 2, 2026
Time: 5:30–6:15 p.m.
At least one parent or guardian of every student wishing to audition MUST attend this meeting. Students themselves do not need to attend.
Mary Poppins Jr. Auditions — November 17 & 18
Auditions are scheduled for Tuesday, November 17, and Wednesday, November 18, giving our aspiring performers a chance to show what they can bring to the stage!
Audition Details:

Looking Ahead: Rehearsals & Performances
Being part of a musical is about much more than performing onstage. Students learn to collaborate, communicate, practice their skills, and contribute to something bigger than themselves.
Families considering participation should review the rehearsal schedule and production commitments before auditioning.
Rehearsals begin November 30, with regularly scheduled practices on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings from 7:30–8:50 a.m. and Friday afternoons from 1:30–3:00 p.m.
Performances are scheduled for March 9–12, 2027.
Participating families are also expected to contribute a minimum of four volunteer hours per student or select the $100 volunteer opt-out option, as outlined in the audition form.

Make It Matter: Step Into the Spotlight
For some students, the stage is already a familiar place. For others, this might be their very first opportunity to discover the excitement of musical theater.
A school production brings together students with different talents, personalities, and experiences, all working toward a shared goal. Along the way, they build confidence, strengthen friendships, and discover just how much they can accomplish together.
We can't wait to see the creativity and talent our Bobcats bring to Mary Poppins Jr.
After all, sometimes a little magic begins with simply being willing to try.
