Every student at Bountiful Elementary is shaped by more than one classroom, one lesson, or one teacher. Throughout the school day, students are supported by many caring adults who help them build reading skills, strengthen communication, and solve problems. There are many individuals who keep the office running, help classrooms flow, and make sure students feel seen, welcomed, and encouraged.

We asked staff members from across the school to share a favorite quote and why it matters to them. Their answers offer a look at the people and values that make Bountiful Elementary a place where students can learn, grow, and belong.

Choosing Growth, Even When Things Are Hard

Nicole Wright, our literacy coach, chose a quote that connects beautifully to the work of helping students grow as readers.

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” — Dr. Seuss

Her quote is a reminder of the doors reading can open. Books help students build knowledge, imagination, confidence, and curiosity. As students grow as readers, they also grow in the way they understand the world around them.

Other staff members shared quotes that focus on the kind of growth that happens when student's keep trying, even when something feels difficult.

Kristina Baxter, reading aide, chose:

“Come what may and love it!”

“I like this because no matter what happens in life, I try to make the best of the situation,” she shared.

Rachel Brown, speech language pathologist, selected a quote about hope and change:

“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.” — C.S. Lewis

“This quote reminds me I can make a meaningful change to my future, even if something in my past didn’t go the way I hoped it would,” she said. “I find that comforting and empowering.”

Together, these reflections point to an important message for students: hard moments do not have to be the end of the story. Growth can begin right where you are.

Showing Up as Yourself

Brandi Jeppson, teacher’s aide, shared a message about being yourself and accepting others.

“Acceptance of others is a want, not a need.”

Her takeaway is simple and encouraging: "Just be YOU all of the time!”

Her reflection reminds students that each person brings something unique to a school community. Being yourself matters, and so does making space for others to do the same.

Vera Jones, reading TA for SIPPS, chose a short phrase that helps her keep going:

“It is what it is.”

Sometimes the simplest reminders are the ones that help us move through a busy day. Her quote reflects the kind of steady, practical mindset that helps students and adults alike handle challenges one step at a time.

Doing Good Work

Rachel Dunning, special education TA, chose a quote from Walt Disney:

“Whatever you do, do it well.”

She said she likes this quote because it is a reminder that even if something does not seem important to everyone, it is still worth being dedicated and doing your best.

That message connects to the many small moments that make a school day work. Helping a student, preparing materials, practicing a skill, solving a problem, or offering encouragement may seem small in the moment, but those efforts matter.

Tiffany Feller, ELL tutor, shared a quote that inspires courage and strength:

“If you could see in vision the person God meant you to be, you would rise up and never be the same.”

She said it inspires her to dig deep for courage and strength and to remember that someone believes in her. Her reflection speaks to the power of encouragement. When students know someone believes in them, it can help them rise to meet challenges with more confidence.

Some staff members chose quotes that reflect humor, perspective, and the ability to keep going with a smile.

Linda Pearson, office secretary, shared a favorite quote from Marjorie Pay Hinckley:

“The only way to get through life is to laugh your way through it. You either have to laugh or cry. I prefer to laugh. Crying gives me a headache.”

It is the kind of quote that feels right at home in a busy school office, where every day brings something new.

Julia Crawford, office secretary, chose:

“Ain’t that just the way.”

She shared that it comes from one of her favorite shows and works in so many situations.

Together, their quotes capture something every school needs: flexibility, humor, and the ability to keep smiling through the unexpected.

Many Roles, One School Community

The quotes shared by these staff members reflect the many ways people support students at Bountiful Elementary. Some reminders are about reading and learning. Others are about perseverance, kindness, courage, effort, authenticity, or laughter.

Together, they show that Bountiful Elementary is shaped not only by classrooms and lessons, but by the people who show up each day ready to help our Bobcats feel supported, capable, and known.
